Industrial Electrician
The Industrial Electrician is responsible for inspecting, maintaining, and repairing electrical equipment to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient operation within an industrial environment. This role requires strong troubleshooting skills, mechanical aptitude, and the ability to work safely at heights and around heavy equipment.
Key Responsibilities
• Inspect electrical equipment, including checking motor bearings, lubrication, commutation, vibration levels, and signs of wear or needed adjustment.
• Use electrical testing equipment to diagnose issues and determine the most effective repair approach to minimize production downtime.
• Recommend immediate equipment shutdown when necessary to prevent damage, or advise when temporary continued operation is safe.
• Identify material and replacement needs and plan logical repair strategies.
• Dismantle, clean, repair, replace, install, assemble, and lubricate electrical equipment.
• Adjust equipment to achieve proper operating performance and make temporary or permanent repairs as needed.
• Perform both mechanical and electrical repairs on cranes and related equipment.
• Complete mechanical repairs associated with servicing electrical systems.
• Erect scaffolding and perform basic rigging tasks as required.
• Operate basic machine tools such as drill presses, power saws, grinders, and portable drills.
• Occasionally perform arc welding and use cutting torches for repair and maintenance tasks.
• Operate high‑lift equipment for electrical repair and maintenance work.
• Check and replenish fluid and LP gas levels as needed.
• Report any conditions requiring maintenance or corrective action.
Requirements
• High School Diploma or GED.
• 3–5 years of industrial maintenance experience preferred.
• Must meet all safety and fall‑protection requirements.
