Immigration Paralegal / Legal Assistant

Small solo-practice law firm handling Immigration, removal and USCIS petitions, based in Chula Vista, CA. We handle cases before the Immigration Courts, 9th Circuit Court of Appeals, and U.S. Citizenship & Immigration Services.

Role Description

We are seeking a full-time Immigration Legal Assistant and/or Paralegal with experience in a variety of immigration matters. This is an on-site role located in Chula Vista, CA. The ideal candidate must have experience assisting attorneys in preparing and filing immigration petitions, applications and supporting documents with EOIR and USCIS. In this role, you will be responsible for various tasks, including communicating with clients, preparing documents, conducting legal research, and other common office duties. The ideal candidate has the compassion to provide caring support for our clients during the most stressful moments of their life, while still balancing their own mental health.

Qualifications

• 1+ years of experience as an Immigration Legal Assistant or Paralegal.
• Strong knowledge of the immigration process, including removal defense, family-based, adjustment of status, and naturalization.
• Excellent organizational, writing, and communication skills.
• Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
• Must be a team player with strong attention to detail and ability to work independently.
• Bilingual Spanish/English is a requirement.
