Warehouse Picker – 1st Shift

Schedule: Monday–Friday, 5 AM-130PM

Job Overview

We are seeking a reliable and detail‑oriented Warehouse Picker to join our 1st shift team at a large parts distribution center in Davenport, Iowa. This contract‑to‑hire role focuses on accurate picking, packing, and movement of parts, with a strong emphasis on quality, safety, and attention to detail rather than production volume.

Key Responsibilities
  • Sort boxes and place them on the correct pick pallets for forklift operators
  • Pick and pack products ranging from small handheld boxes to heavy machine parts
  • Operate lifting equipment to safely move and position materials
  • Use RF scanners to locate, pick, and verify inventory accurately
  • Load and unload semi‑trailers and incoming/outgoing freight
  • Follow detailed work instructions to prevent shipping errors
  • Maintain accurate inventory handling and support general warehouse operations
  • Assist with order preparation, packaging, and shipment staging
  • Maintain a safe, organized, and clean work environment
  • Follow all warehouse safety and equipment guidelines
  • Work mandatory overtime, including extended shifts and occasional Saturdays
  • Collaborate respectfully with team members in a diverse, inclusive environment
Required Qualifications
  • 3–6 months of warehouse or distribution experience
  • Experience with picking and packing in a warehouse environment
  • Ability to learn and use RF scanners
  • Ability to regularly lift to 75 lbs
  • Willingness to work overtime and flexible hours as business needs require
  • Strong attention to detail and quality‑focused work habits
  • Ability to work well in a team‑based, multicultural environment
Preferred Qualifications
  • Forklift experience (training and certification provided if needed)
  • Experience loading and unloading trucks or semi‑trailers
  • Experience in general labor or warehouse distribution
  • Familiarity with inventory control and the order‑picking process

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Davenport, IA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $16.00 - $17.00/hr.
