We're hiring an Facilities Maintenance Mechanic for a pharmaceutical manufacturing facility in Lakewood, NJ

This role focuses on maintaining and repairing facility systems including HVAC and plumbing, along with light electrical and basic carpentry work as needed. Industrial maintenance experience is preferred but not required.

Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Facilities Maintenance Technician to join our dynamic team in a fast-paced pharmaceutical manufacturing facility. This is a first-shift position in a clean, air-conditioned environment where you will follow work orders to complete a variety of maintenance tasks including plumbing, electrical work, HVAC, carpentry, and piping.

Responsibilities

• Complete priority work orders such as changing faucets, running internet cables through ceilings, repairing warehouse racking, installing guard rails, and changing out condensation pumps.
• Perform repairs on miscellaneous facility items including bathroom fixtures, office furniture, lunchroom equipment, and laboratory equipment.
• Show mechanical aptitude by threading and running pipes for air, steam, and electrical systems.
• Paint facilities and equipment, and repaint production line floor markings.
• Assist in moving furniture and equipment.
• Repair both interior and exterior wall damage.
• Bale cardboard using baler equipment and place completed units onto pallets.
• Dispose of trash by emptying receptacles into compactors and operating them safely.
• Maintain cleanliness of facility exteriors, including sweeping driveways and walkways, and raking wooded and grassy areas.
• Clean factory floors bi-weekly using floor cleaning and waxing equipment.
• Replace light bulbs throughout the facility.

Skills

• Facilities maintenance experience.
• Ability to troubleshoot and repair plumbing, electrical, mechanical, and carpentry systems.
• Experience with building maintenance, drywall, and hand tools.
• Mechanical ability and experience with threading and running pipe for air, steam, and electrical systems.
• Proficiency in janitorial tasks, lighting, power tools, painting, and HVAC maintenance.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Prefer previous experience working as a maintenance worker.
• Ability to operate pallet jack, baler, compactor, and floor cleaning equipment.
• Written and spoken English sufficient for internal communication.
• Observant with the ability to report facility needs to the Building Maintenance Supervisor.
• Physical strength and mobility to lift and maneuver heavy materials and equipment.
• Ability to hear speech and alarms through plant noise.
• Possess peripheral vision and ability to recognize colors and shades.
• Capability to climb step ladders and maintain balance, up to 30 feet.

Work Environment

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Lakewood, NJ.

The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $35.00/hr.
