The HR Generalist supports multiple business units and shared service functions, including Accounting, HR, IT, Marketing, Supply Chain and Purchasing, Safety & Compliance, serving both domestic and global employee populations. Ensures compliance with employment regulations and company policies, manages HR processes across assigned contracts, and provides responsive, high-quality support to employees and managers. Operating in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment, the HR Generalist brings strong process orientation, attention to detail, and a collaborative mindset to all aspects of HR service delivery.
Requirements:
- BA/BS in Business Administration, Human Resources, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, or SPHR preferred
- Minimum 4 years as an HR Generalist or HR Specialist
- Experience supporting multi-state and global employee populations
Skills:
- Strong emotional intelligence and communication skills
- Proficiency in HCM systems (UKG/Kronos preferred), Excel, and presentation tools
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a high-volume environment
- Knowledge of employment/labor laws and HR compliance standards

Job Duties:
- Provide HR support across multiple business units and shared services functions
- Respond to employee inquiries regarding employment, employee relations, benefits, payroll, and policies
- Maintain and audit personnel records and documentation for compliance
- Conduct background checks and employment verifications
- Develop, update, and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs) for core HR processes
- Assist with HR metrics tracking and reporting
- Support the ongoing maintenance and efficient functionality of the HCM by performing routine data audits, troubleshooting user issues, and coordinating updates
- Partner with talent acquisition and development teams on staffing and onboarding
- Conduct HR and compliance audits; manage tracking logs and project calendars
- Ensure compliance with FLSA, SCA, and other applicable regulations
- Support immigration-related activities including H-1B and H-2B visa programs
- Partner with Benefits and Wellness team to support leave tracking, wellness initiatives, and open enrollment
- Collaborate with Payroll to ensure compliance with HR policies related to PTO, leave, and state-specific requirements
- Advise managers on employee relations, performance management, and disciplinary procedures
- Participate in unemployment, wage/hour, and EEOC hearings
- Assist with OFCCP audits and Affirmative Action Plan preparation
- Collaborate with Safety & Risk on workers’ compensation claims (DOT and non-DOT)
- Represent HR in enterprise-wide meetings and initiatives
- Support end-to-end payroll processing and benefits administration for global staff, ensuring accurate data entry, timely processing, and compliance with regional requirements.
- Prepare internal communications and company-wide announcements
- Maintain confidentiality and uphold data integrity across all HR systems and processes
- Mentor junior HR staff members, providing guidance, support, and knowledge-sharing to build team capability and ensure consistent service delivery.
