Position Summary
We are seeking an accomplished and visionary General Manager to lead the pre-opening and ongoing operations of a luxury mountain resort. This executive role will oversee all aspects of development, opening strategy, and operational execution, ensuring the successful launch and long-term performance of the property.
The ideal candidate brings extensive luxury resort experience, a strong background in pre-opening environments, and a passion for delivering exceptional, experience-driven hospitality in a destination setting.
Key Responsibilities
Pre-Opening Leadership
- Lead all pre-opening activities including staffing, training, SOP development, and operational setup
- Partner with ownership, development teams, and brand representatives on project timelines and deliverables
- Oversee budgeting, pre-opening expenses, and capital planning
- Establish service standards, brand culture, and operational procedures prior to opening
- Coordinate FF&E installation, vendor relationships, and operational readiness
Executive Operations
- Oversee all resort departments including Rooms, Food & Beverage, Spa, Recreation, Engineering, Sales & Marketing, and Finance
- Ensure seamless day-to-day operations post-opening with a focus on luxury service standards
- Drive guest satisfaction, quality assurance, and brand alignment
Financial Performance
- Develop and manage annual operating and capital budgets
- Drive revenue strategy, pricing, and positioning in a seasonal mountain market
- Monitor P&L performance, labor management, RevPAR, ADR, and profitability metrics
- Implement cost-control strategies without compromising guest experience
Sales, Marketing & Positioning
- Collaborate with Sales & Marketing to position the resort as a premier mountain destination
- Drive leisure, group, and experiential travel demand
- Build relationships with local partners, tourism boards, and community stakeholders
- Support brand storytelling and experiential programming
Team Leadership & Culture
- Recruit, develop, and retain a high-performing executive leadership team
- Foster a culture of service excellence, accountability, and engagement
- Lead training initiatives aligned with luxury service standards
- Promote a positive and inclusive workplace environment
Guest Experience & Brand Standards
- Ensure all guest touchpoints reflect elevated, personalized service
- Oversee VIP experiences and high-profile events
- Monitor guest feedback and implement continuous improvement initiatives
Required Qualifications
- 10+ years of progressive hotel or resort leadership experience
- Proven experience as a General Manager or Hotel Manager in luxury resort environments
- Prior pre-opening experience required (luxury hotel or resort)
- Strong financial acumen with full P&L responsibility
- Experience in seasonal or destination resort markets (mountain, ski, or adventure preferred)
- Exceptional leadership, communication, and organizational skills

- Background in mountain, ski, or outdoor destination properties
- Experience working with ownership groups, developers, and brand partners
- Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality, Business, or related field
