The Opportunity

Black and Veatch is an employee-owned and globally recognized engineering firm seeking a graphic designer to design technical graphics for proposals.

The graphics this designer creates are critical to telling the story of the approach in a visual way, ensuring clarity and scan-ability, while showcasing graphic design excellence, to maintain a competitive edge and help us win work.

If you are excellent at transforming ideas into clean infographics with clear information hierarchy and consistently designed in brand style, you would be well-suited for this role. These same skills will apply to the other types of graphics is role is responsible for creating.

Key Responsibilities

Responsible for developing:

  • Technical site plans
  • Process diagrams
  • Work plans
  • Technical illustrations
  • Schedules
  • Infographics
  • Executive summaries
  • PowerPoint presentations

Ensuring graphics demonstrate:

  • Content clarity
  • Visual hierarchy
  • Ease of scanning
  • Visual Design excellence
  • Working closely with internal clients to translate their vision of proposal graphics into reality
  • Juggling multiple design projects at same time and ensuring all deadlines are met
Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in graphics, design, or a related field; or equivalent experience.
  • 2+ years related experience All applicants must be able to complete pre-employment onboarding requirements (if selected) which may include any/all of the following: criminal/civil background check, drug screen, and motor vehicle records search, in compliance with any applicable laws and regulations.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Be highly proficient in Adobe Illustrator and InDesign
  • Have advanced Photoshop and PPT skills
  • Design quickly and resourcefully in a consistent brand style
  • Be organized and process-oriented
  • Design with a high attention to detail and accuracy
  • Be a problem-solving team player with a great attitude
  • Have excellent communication skills
  • Have 6+ years experience
Work Environment/Physical Demands
