Civil Clothing Inc. is seeking a highly organized and detail-driven Design Coordinator to support our growing Darc Sport team in Torrance. In this role, you will help keep the design process organized, accurate, and moving efficiently by managing design documentation, style input, maintaining resource libraries, and coordinating samples and development materials.


You will work closely with the Design, Pre-Production and Licensing teams to maintain line sheets, input product information into PLM systems, and organize design libraries and files. This role plays an important part in ensuring the design team has the tools, materials, and accurate documentation needed to move product smoothly from concept to production.

What You’ll Do

Design Operations & Team Support

  • Support the design team with day-to-day operational needs, helping maintain organization across design tools, materials, and development resources.
  • Facilitate design team resource requests including ordering Pantone books, reference samples, trims, fabrics, and general design supplies.
  • Ensure design tools, references, and materials are readily available to support the team’s creative workflow.

Line Development & Documentation

  • Create and maintain seasonal line sheets, partnering with the design team to ensure style details and product information remain accurate.
  • Assist designers with line development tracking and maintain updated style information across seasonal product lists.
  • Cross-check line sheet information with the design team prior to handoffs to merchandising, licensing, and production teams.

PLM & Product Data Management

  • Input and maintain styles within each collection, artwork specifications, and product information within the company’s PLM or WIP systems.
  • Ensure product data and documentation remain accurate and updated throughout the design process.

Design Library & Resource Management

  • Organize and maintain design libraries including assets, standards, embellishments, silhouettes, e-Patterns, Pantones, and reference materials.
  • Maintain accurate records of additions or updates to design resources.
  • Ensure design libraries and sample archives remain organized and accessible for the team.

Cross-Functional Coordination

  • Partner with Design, Product Development, Licensing and Merchandising teams to support smooth collection development.
  • Track collection progress and help ensure information is organized and ready for cross-functional handoffs.

What You Bring


Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage samples, documentation, and multiple priorities in a fast-paced design environment.
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign) and Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook); familiarity with Airtable and PLM systems.
  • Understanding of screen printing and garment construction processes a plus.
  • Excellent attention to detail to ensure line sheets and product information remain accurate and up to date.
  • Clear communication and collaboration skills, working effectively with Design, Product Development, and Merchandising teams.
  • Resourceful and proactive with strong follow-through and the ability to keep projects and materials organized.
  • Demonstrates curiosity and the ability to quickly learn new tools, systems, and processes as the role evolves.


Education & Experience

  • 1–2 years of experience in design coordination, product development support, merchandising, or a related role; internship experience may be obtained through relevant school programs.
  • Currently pursuing or recently completed a Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Fashion Design, Product Development, Merchandising, or a related field, or equivalent hands-on experience.
  • Familiarity with product development processes, garment construction basics, or design documentation is a plus.
  • Strong interest in streetwear, active lifestyle, or contemporary apparel across men’s and women’s categories preferred.

 

Physical & Mental Demands

  • This role is primarily office-based with regular use of standard office equipment.
  • Ability to sit or stand for extended periods and move throughout office, showroom, or production environments as needed.
  • Ability to occasionally lift, carry, or move materials or product weighing up to 25 lbs, with or without reasonable accommodation.
  • Visual requirements include close vision, distance vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus, with or without reasonable accommodation.
  • Ability to work in varied environments, including exposure to noise, temperature fluctuations, and occasional outdoor elements.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities, deadlines, and shifting demands in a fast-paced environment.
  • Capacity to maintain focus, sound judgment, and professional communication while navigating time-sensitive issues.
  • This role may require flexibility in work hours during peak campaign periods.
