Grant Associate

Our Client is seeking a Grant Accountant / Grant Associate to support a portfolio of state and federally funded programs. This role sits at the core of financial compliance—ensuring funding is properly tracked, reported, and reimbursed in alignment with strict regulatory standards.

This is a hands-on, execution-focused role—ideal for someone who understands grant accounting beyond theory and has worked directly within government funding environments.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and submit grant vouchers and reimbursement requests across multiple funding sources
• Navigate Illinois state and federal grant portals for reporting, tracking, and compliance
• Monitor grant expenditures to ensure alignment with approved budgets and funding restrictions
• Support monthly and quarterly reporting tied to government-funded programs
• Maintain audit-ready documentation and ensure compliance with grant requirements
• Partner with internal program teams to ensure accurate financial reporting and funding utilization

Required Experience

• Direct experience working with:
• Illinois Department of Human Services
• Illinois Department of Children and Family Services
• Department of Family and Support Services
• Proven experience with:

Grant voucher preparation and submission

• Illinois Grant Accountability and Transparency Act (GATA) / CSA systems
• State and/or federal grant reporting portals
• Background in nonprofit or government-funded accounting environments
• Strong understanding of grant compliance, fund accounting, and audit requirements
