Do you have a love for research, writing, and policy? A well-established Washington, D.C. firm is seeking an experienced government relations and policy professional to support their growing team. In this role, you will be responsible for conducting research, drafting memos, and assisting the team as they develop innovative solutions for their diverse clients. The successful candidate will have strong knowledge of federal policymaking and regulatory processes, expert level writing skills, and at least two or more years of relevant experience. Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist with policy and regulatory research across a variety of topics/fields including environmental, manufacturing, trade, and financial issues, compiling findings, and analyzing proposed legislation.
  • Draft internal communication, positional statements, advocacy materials, memos, and policy reports relating to client matters.
  • Present research findings and policy reports to clients on a regular basis.
  • Represent the team and the firm at in-person events such as hearings, conferences, and various meetings.
  • Collaborate closely with colleagues, policy specialists, Congress, and other stakeholders to advocate for and advance clients’ interests.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Educated and interested in policy. You currently hold a bachelor’s degree and a minimum of two (2) or more years of previous experience in government affairs, policy analysis, or on Capitol Hill.
  • Capable, critical thinker. You enjoy the challenge of navigating complex policy issues and can effectively walk others through your thought process. Candidates with strong understanding of federal legislative and regulatory processes will stand out!
