GenAI Technical Lead (Hands-on / Offshore Management)
Location: Chicago, IL (Hybrid/Onsite Preferred)
Duration: Long-Term Contract
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the design and implementation of Generative AI and LLM-powered applications.
- Architect and develop Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) solutions.
- Review existing systems and recommend architecture and scalability improvements.
- Provide technical leadership to offshore and distributed engineering teams.
- Build and deploy AI-powered applications using modern GenAI frameworks.
- Drive AI/ML best practices, coding standards, and design reviews.
- Collaborate with business stakeholders and engineering leadership to define technical roadmaps.
- Mentor engineers and guide AI solution implementation.
Required Skills:
- 10+ years of software engineering experience.
- 3+ years of hands-on Generative AI experience.
- Strong expertise with LLMs such as GPT, Claude, Gemini, Llama, or similar models.
- Experience building RAG solutions using LangChain, LangGraph, LlamaIndex, or equivalent frameworks.
- Strong Python development experience.
- Experience with AI Agents and Agentic Workflows.
- Expertise with Vector Databases such as Pinecone, Weaviate, Milvus, FAISS, or Qdrant.
- Experience with AWS, Azure, or GCP cloud platforms.
- Strong understanding of Microservices, APIs, and distributed systems.
- Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, Terraform, CI/CD, and MLOps.
- Strong architecture, scalability, and performance optimization experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Healthcare or Insurance domain experience.
- Experience with AWS Bedrock, Azure OpenAI, Vertex AI, or Watsonx.
- Experience leading offshore development teams.
- Knowledge of AI Governance, Responsible AI, and Model Evaluation frameworks.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
