Job Title: General Production Worker - Two First Shift Spots open

Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated General Production Worker to join our team. This role involves spending half of the day on the paint line and the other half performing various general fabrication tasks. The job requires physical strength, as it involves hand sanding, lifting, and the use of hand tools.

Responsibilities

  • Operate on the paint line, performing hand sanding and prepping pieces for paint by taping sections and filling holes.
  • Utilize hand tools to remove cut pieces from sheets of steel and conduct visual inspections before stacking them for the next stage.
  • Deburr and polish edges of lasered pieces and grind welds to ensure they are flat and smooth for painting.
  • Perform straightforward assembly tasks using hand and power tools.
  • Remain flexible and open to working in various roles across the plant as needed, with training provided for each department.

Essential Skills

  • Ability to lift 40 lbs.
  • Flexibility to learn new tasks and work effectively as part of a team.
  • At least 6 months of experience in a warehouse or manufacturing environment, including assembly and machine operation.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Metal fabrication experience is a plus.
  • Any machine operating experience is advantageous.

Work Environment

Work in a standard manufacturing environment with some exposure to warm temperatures, especially near the paint line during summer. The plant is not temperature-controlled but is generally mild with average noise levels. While the space can be somewhat dirty due to metal fabrication, it maintains a fair level of cleanliness.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Batavia, IL.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $19.00/hr.
