This role supports a high-volume plastics manufacturing operation that supplies the automotive industry. As a General Production Worker, you work within your own work cell to load and unload parts from injection molding machines, perform visual and basic dimensional quality checks, and carry out light assembly and trimming of excess materials. You follow established procedures to keep production running smoothly, maintain product quality, and support overall plant efficiency.
Responsibilities
You join a stable, established plastics manufacturer that invests in its people through structured pay progression, bonuses, and advancement opportunities. The company offers medical benefits, a 401(k) plan with company match, and vacation accrual with unused hours paid out at year-end, supporting both financial security and work-life balance. Team members can earn referral bonuses, suggestion bonuses, and negative point redemption rewards, recognizing and rewarding engagement and reliability. Annual merit and cost-of-living increases are tied to company and plant performance, and clear promotional paths provide meaningful pay increases for moving into roles such as material handler or quality inspector. This environment encourages continuous improvement, values employee input, and provides opportunities to grow skills and build a long-term career in manufacturing.
Work Environment
The role is based in a very clean, modern manufacturing facility with a large production floor housing over 50 presses, including 1,500 to 4,000 ton presses. The operation includes around 20 injection molding presses, such as dual profile rotary and two-shot injection presses, as well as equipment from major manufacturers like Engels, Cincinnati Milacron, and Krauss Maffei. The plant utilizes 60-ton overhead cranes to support material handling and equipment operations. Work is performed on a structured shift schedule with three options: first shift from 6:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., second shift from 2:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m., and third shift from 10:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m. starting Monday night.
