General Manager / Vice President of Operations

Confidential Restoration Company
Austin, Texas Metropolitan Area

We are a high-growth property restoration and construction company in the rapidly growing Central Texas hill country. We are a locally owned franchise group that is part of an industry-leading national brand. We are currently seeking a highly skilled, experienced, and fiercely accountable General Manager / Operations Executive to take ownership of our daily operations and drive our next phase of aggressive expansion.

Reporting directly to Ownership, the ideal candidate is an elite operational leader with a proven track record of scaling restoration companies, optimizing margins, and cultivating high-performance teams. You will be fully accountable for the P&L and the strategic execution of all divisions and service lines.

Key Accountabilities:

Strategic Growth & Financial Performance

  • Partner with Ownership on long-term strategy and expansion goals, leveraging your past successes in the restoration industry to translate that vision into daily operational and financial success.
  • Develop, execute, and manage the annual business plan, driving aggressive top-line revenue growth—including the strategic expansion of new service lines—while protecting bottom-line profitability.
  • Build and manage the annual company budget, ensuring meticulous job costing, financial tracking, and regular business reviews with Ownership.
  • Identify operational bottlenecks and implement proven, scalable systems to support rapid regional expansion.

Operational Excellence

  • Direct and optimize day-to-day operations across all business units (mitigation, construction, sales and marketing, and finance & administration) as the primary operational leader.
  • Spearhead large loss and storm event mobilization, drawing on your background to ensure rapid response and maximized revenue capture during catastrophic events.
  • Enforce rigorous quality control standards and ensure absolute compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, as well as industry best practices.
  • Maintain comprehensive oversight of financials, human resources, vendor management, fleet management, safety protocols, technology utilization, and all other business operations.

Leadership & Team Building

  • Serve as the cultural cornerstone of the daily operation, leading by example and fostering a culture of high performance, urgency, and excellence.
  • Coach, mentor, and evaluate division managers, equipping them with the tools and training necessary to exceed departmental KPIs.
  • Oversee all talent acquisition, retention, and succession planning to ensure the company is consistently staffed with top-tier talent.
  • Facilitate high-impact operating cadence and meeting structures to align all divisions with the company's overarching strategic goals.

Client Relations & Market Expansion

  • Actively drive the growth of our commercial business portfolio, leveraging your expertise to secure new partnerships while serving as the day-to-day face of the operation to existing key commercial accounts and centers of influence (COIs).
  • Work closely with the marketing and production teams to guarantee an exceptional, best-in-class customer experience on every job.

Required Experience:

  • Industry Expertise: 10+ years of senior management or executive experience specifically within the restoration and construction industry, with a demonstrable track record of successfully scaling operations, expanding service lines, and growing commercial accounts.
  • Technical Proficiency and Relations: Deep understanding of the technical aspects of the business, including property mitigation and reconstruction in residential and commercial contexts. Significant experience in industry-specific process and relationship management, including insurance carriers and agents, TPAs, adjusters, centers of influence, vendors and suppliers, subcontractors and IEPs, corporate/commercial, and government entities. Adept at utilizing industry-standard software (e.g., Xactimate, CRM platforms, and operational management systems).
  • Financial Acumen: Advanced proficiency in P&L management, job costing, budget formulation, and margin optimization.
  • Leadership: Proven ability to build, unify, and lead cross-functional teams in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
  • Communication: Elite written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills; capable of reporting complex operational data clearly to Ownership and negotiating effectively with clients and adjusters.

As the operational leader of an emergency response business, this executive role demands the flexibility and commitment inherent to a 24/7 industry. While standard business hours apply for strategic and administrative functions, the General Manager must be capable of directing on-call operations, catastrophic storm mobilization, and after-hours escalations as business needs dictate.

This leader must be located in the Greater Austin-Georgetown-Waco region. Travel is primarily regional within Central Texas markets; however, out-of-area and overnight travel may be required for large-scale events or professional development.
