Own and lead full branch performance for a high-volume NVOCC and freight forwarding operation near JFK, with responsibility for P&L, operations, client growth, and strategic direction. This role will drive revenue expansion, operational efficiency, and service excellence across air and ocean import activities, while building and scaling a high-performing team.


This is a key leadership position with high visibility, offering the opportunity to take ownership of a critical gateway location and play a central role in the company’s U.S. growth strategy.


Responsibilities

  • Own full P&L performance for the branch, driving revenue growth, margin improvement, and cost optimization
  • Lead, develop, and scale a cross-functional team across import operations, customs brokerage, and customer service
  • Drive business growth, partnering with commercial teams to expand key accounts, increase shipment volume, and identify new revenue opportunities
  • Oversee end-to-end air and ocean import operations, ensuring timely, accurate, and high-quality service delivery
  • Act as senior escalation point for key clients, strengthening relationships and ensuring long-term retention and satisfaction
  • Establish and enforce KPIs, creating accountability around service levels, productivity, and financial performance
  • Identify and implement process improvements to increase efficiency, reduce costs, and enhance customer experience
  • Oversee NVOCC operations including consolidations, routing strategy, and carrier relationships to optimize cost and service levels
  • Leverage operational and financial data to drive decision-making, forecasting, and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Ensure full compliance with U.S. Customs and Border Protection regulations and international trade requirements, maintaining audit readiness and operational integrity
  • Maintain a strong culture of safety, compliance, and continuous improvement aligned with OSHA and regulatory standards


Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Transportation, Business, or related field
  • 8–12+ years of experience in freight forwarding, NVOCC operations, or customs brokerage
  • Demonstrated success owning or influencing P&L performance, including revenue growth and cost management
  • Strong knowledge of U.S. import regulations, HTS classification, and international trade compliance
  • Experience managing NVOCC operations, including consolidations, routing, and carrier relationships
  • Licensed Customs Broker (preferred) or Certified Customs Specialist (CCS)
  • Experience with logistics platforms such as CargoWise or similar systems
  • Proven ability to build client relationships, resolve complex issues, and drive customer retention and growth
  • Strong leadership, communication, and decision-making skills with a hands-on, results-oriented approach
