We are looking for a motivated and experienced General Manager with DOT Transportation experience to join our dynamic team and help us continue our growth trajectory. The primary responsibilities of the General Manager will be to lead, manage and develop relationships with DOT CDL drivers and increase overall driver satisfaction to improve safety and driver retention. This position will play a critical role in ensuring the efficient and timely delivery of goods, maintaining clear communication with drivers, and resolving any issues that may arise during transit. This position involves the load planning, dispatching, directing, leading and coordination of all deliveries in NY, NJ, MA, RI, NH, and VT in a fast-paced grocery delivery environment that operates 24/7.

The ability to stay organized, multitask, and make quick decisions will be key to success in this role.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS GENERAL MANAGER (DOT)

Lead, Direct and motivate Ops Managers, Dispatch Supervisors, Fleet Manager, and Driver group.
Manage daily service requirements and client relationships
Manage all transportation and logistics for shipments to customers
Integrate our transportation services seamlessly into our customer’s supply chain
Monitor transportation costs and target areas that yield improvements and cost savings
Provide strategic planning to support customers’ regional expansion
Provide accurate and timely reports
Work closely with vendors
Must drive key performance indicators for cost savings and maintain efficient utilization of manpower and equipment.
Be responsible for Safety/Compliance and knowledge with the Federal Department of Transportation regulations.
Ensure that routing parameters offer cost-effective solutions that will drive efficiency for our customers

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS GENERAL MANAGER (DOT)

P&L accountability to maintain expected contributions
Must have a minimum of 5 to 7 years of experience in Transportation/logistics and/or operations supervision is required
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
Detail-oriented with an ability to influence others across multiple groups positively
An ability to work independently
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Knowledge of electronic transportation platforms and software
In-depth knowledge of DOT and FMCSA regulations
Must have Fleet experience, including repair, fuel, etc.
Proficiency with Transportation Management Systems (TMW) and Electronic Log Devices, Outlook, Word, and Excel.
Have managed a minimum of 50+ CDL drivers with experience in hiring, training, and motivating people.
Be able to effectively present information and respond to questions professionally from Executive Management group, customers, vendors, and employees.
Have strong analytical and communication skills with proven ability to work within the framework of the Team.
Ability to be available for weekend work during busy season and or emergencies
