Job Title: General Laborer
Job Description

The General Laborer supports a fast-paced manufacturing operation by performing a variety of hands-on tasks, including grinding, assembly, loading and unloading materials, and using hand and power tools. This role contributes directly to production quality and efficiency within a conveyor-based door manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

  • Perform general labor tasks to support daily production needs in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
  • Use hand tools and power tools safely and effectively for grinding, sanding, deburring, and other production activities.
  • Assist with assembly tasks, ensuring components are accurately fitted and secured according to specifications.
  • Load and unload materials, parts, and finished products to and from workstations, conveyors, and storage areas.
  • Support paint preparation activities, including sanding, masking, and cleaning parts prior to painting.
  • Operate or assist in operating spray guns and work in or around paint booths as needed for production.
  • Monitor parts moving on a conveyor-type system and ensure work is completed within required timeframes.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area, following all safety and housekeeping standards.
  • Participate in cross-training to learn multiple tasks within the facility and provide support where needed.
  • Collaborate with other team members to meet production goals and assist coworkers in different areas when required.
Essential Skills
  • Previous manufacturing background, preferably in a heavy industrial environment.
  • Experience performing general labor or general production tasks in a manufacturing setting.
  • Ability to safely use hand tools such as grinders, sanders, and basic assembly tools.
  • Ability to safely use power tools for grinding, sanding, and related production work.
  • Comfort working in a very fast-paced, conveyor-based production environment.
  • Willingness to cross-train and perform a variety of tasks across the facility.
  • Reliable attendance and ability to maintain a consistent work schedule.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • Experience with machine operation in a manufacturing or production setting.
  • background in deburring and grinding metal or similar materials.
  • Experience with assembly work in a production environment.
  • Familiarity with painting processes, including paint preparation and paint booth operations.
  • Experience using a spray gun for painting or coating applications.
  • Manufacturing experience outside of food production and distribution environments is preferred.

Work Environment

This position is based in a door manufacturing facility that operates on a conveyor-type production system. The environment is very fast paced, with continuous movement of parts and materials through various stages of production. You will work with hand tools, power tools, grinding and sanding equipment, and may work in or near paint booths and spray gun operations. The role involves standing for extended periods, handling materials, and frequently moving between different workstations as part of cross-training and team support. The facility emphasizes safety, cleanliness, and teamwork, and expects employees to be flexible and willing to help in multiple areas as production needs change.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Fontana, CA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $22.00/hr.
