POSITION: Front of House Associate
POSITION TYPE: Part Time-Non-exempt
REPORTS TO: Front of House Manager/Patron Services Manager
Olney Theatre Center for the Arts, an award-winning, four-stage, non-profit leading regional theatre in the vibrant Baltimore/Washington, DC region, seeks part-time Front-of-House Associates. Reporting to the Front of House Manager and Patron Services Manager, this position will work 3-30 hours per week during shows, both weeknights and weekend shifts, as well as occasional weekday shifts and holidays. One must have great customer service skills and a dedication to the service of the theatre and its patrons. Olney Theatre Center is an equal-opportunity employer. Primary Duties and Responsibilities
● Sales: Set up, operate, and breakdown the gift shop, concessions, and alcohol sales for the theatre during performances.
● Customer Service: Assist House Management staff in creating a safe and welcoming environment at the Olney Theatre Center, providing hands-on assistance as necessary/requested. This includes (but is not limited to): pouring/serving beverages, serving snacks, making mixed drinks, etc.
● Ensuring patron safety in the event of an emergency in accordance with company procedure
● Maintain the cleanliness of all public spaces. This includes (but is not limited to) theatres, lobbies, and bathrooms
● Collaborating with House Managers, reporting safety or facilities issues or patron concerns.
● Inventory management/restocking concessions as necessary
● Support other departments with public-facing events, including (but not limited to) donor events, board meetings, and community engagement activities

● Other duties as assigned
Requirements
● Must be at least 18 years of age or older
● Open afternoon/evening availability Wednesday through Sunday
● Cheerful attitude and evident willingness to serve and engage with theatre patrons
● Excellent listening, problem-solving, and verbal/written communication skills
● Desire to work as part of a team
● Comfortable working on your feet/remain in standing positions for extended periods of time
● Must be able to lift at least 25lbs
● Point of Sales (POS) experience is preferred
● Reliability and punctuality
● Attention to detail
● Previous experience in customer service roles preferred
● Cash handling experience and computer literacy
● Ability to multitask and work well under pressure
● Reliable transportation
● Product knowledge of beer, wine, and food service encouraged
Compensation
● Front of House Associates are paid hourly and work hours depending on their availability
● $18.00 per hour + tips (pooled amongst all FOH associates and Managers)
