The Visitor Services and Development Associate is a dual-role position supporting both front-of-house visitor engagement and behind-the-scenes development operations. This role serves as a welcoming first point of contact for visitors, members, donors and groups, while also assisting with administrative functions that support fundraising, membership and special events.
Working across visitor services and development, this position helps ensure a positive, engaging and well-organized museum experience. Ideal candidates enjoy working with people and contributing to mission-driven work in a nonprofit environment. This role reports to the VP of Development and collaborates closely with the Development team.
Visitor Associate pay range is $22.00 – $25.00 per hour depending on experience, education, and any applicable certifications.
Responsibilities
• Greet and assist visitors, members, donors and groups in a friendly, engaging manner.
• Provide accurate information about exhibits, programs and events, and support accessibility and guest needs.
• Assist with admissions and membership check-in process.
• Support Development Department with administrative tasks, including data entry and donor record management.
• Assist with logistics for fundraising events, donor receptions, and community programs.
• Maintain accurate and organized donor, member and sponsor records.
• Track RSVPs, donations, and membership renewals using internal systems.
• Provide general office support, including scheduling and document preparation.
Requirements, Skills, Experience, & Education
• Friendly, professional demeanor with strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Customer service experience preferred (museum or nonprofit experience a plus).
• Detail-oriented with strong organizational and administrative abilities.
• Comfortable using office software and databases (CRM experience a plus).
• Able to sit or stand for extended periods.
• Interest in aviation, STEM education, museums or nonprofit development preferred.
Preferred Qualifications
• Experience in visitor services, retail, or museum/nonprofit environments.
• Experience with administrative support or donor databases (CRM systems).
• Bilingual abilities a plus.
Shifts
• 15-25 hours per week including weekends, holidays and occasional evenings.
