FRENCH LANGUAGE TEACHER Grades 9-12 2026-2027 ASA’s m ission is to inspire creative thinkers and leaders through providing an innovative concentration in college preparation inform ed by the perform ing arts. This faculty m em ber teaches the French language to high school students w ho take four consecutive years of one language. This person m ust be highly proficient/fluent in all four skill areas: reading, w riting, speaking, and listening skills. This instructor designs, plans, and im plem ents a challenging and relevant curriculum for the levels assigned based upon the needs of the school; 11th and 12th grade classes require a faculty m em ber that can facilitate H onors and D ual Enrollm ent levels of instruction. Class sizes are approxim ately 28 students. Academ ic teachers have daily prep tim e for curriculum planning, m eeting, integrating, and assessing. The teacher w ill be responsible for w riting their ow n curriculum to align w ith state standards and are asked to differentiate their curriculum using additional resources as needed to support student grow th and achievem ent. This teacher w orks closely w ith the Foreign Language D epartm ent and their grade level team . ASA teachers provide an academ ic curriculum that is rigorous, relevant, and aligned w ith ASA’s m ission and core values. Curriculum developm ent and im plem entation reflects Arizona State Standards layered w ith ASA’s innovative college prep focus that fosters intellectual curiosity, em phasizes active engagem ent, project-based learning, inquiry-based discussions, research, advanced w ritten and oral skills, and collaboration. Essential Duties and Responsibilities ● Plan and deliver standards-aligned lessons that are clear, engaging, and appropriately challenging. ● Establish a classroom environm ent that is safe, respectful, and conducive to learning. ● Build strong relationships w ith students; foster a sense of belonging and trust. ● Use a variety of instructional strategies to m eet diverse learning needs. ● D ifferentiate instruction based on student readiness, interests, and learning profiles. ● Assess student learning regularly using form ative and sum m ative m ethods. ● Analyze data to adjust instruction and im prove student outcom es. ● Provide tim ely, specific, and actionable feedback to students. ● M aintain accurate records of student progress, attendance, and grades ● Com m unicate consistently and professionally w ith fam ilies about student progress and needs. Minim um Qualifications ● Bachelor's D egree in content area from an accredited four-year college or university. ● H ighly qualified. ● Valid Arizona D epartm ent of Public Safety Identity Verified Prints (IVP) card. ● Teaching experience or certification preferred but not required.
