Job Title: Machine Operator

Job Description

The Machine Operator supports a high-volume plastic container manufacturing operation, primarily serving the automotive industry. In this role, you assist with production changeovers, maintain clean and efficient press areas, and help ensure equipment runs safely and reliably. You work closely with technical and production teams to perform routine checks, basic maintenance tasks, and provide support across the facility as business needs change.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with material changes, option changes, and mold and version changes to support ongoing production requirements.
  • Perform nozzle preparation, including cleaning, testing, and assembling nozzles and nozzle blocks to ensure proper machine performance.
  • Clean presses and surrounding press areas as needed to maintain a safe and organized work environment.
  • Participate in scheduled safety and communications meetings to stay informed and contribute to a strong safety culture.
  • Provide support during times of need, including production support, vacation coverage, and overtime changeover support.
  • Fill in for Relief Operators and Production Operators as needed to maintain consistent production output.
  • Perform daily checks and audits of process systems, including mold pre-stage checks, water line checks, 5S audits, and Daily Equipment Checks (DEC).
  • Assist other technical team members with their daily duties, including preventive maintenance on injection molding tools and related equipment.
  • Use basic tools, such as tape measures, hand tools, and power tools, to complete assembly, adjustment, and inspection tasks.
  • Perform general production and assembly work, including inspection, packing, and machine operating activities as required.
  • Identify and communicate basic mechanical or process issues and support troubleshooting activities under guidance from more experienced team members.
  • Operate forklifts and work in warehouse areas when needed, following all safety and operational procedures.
Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Georgetown, KY.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $19.00/hr.
