Director of Finance

About the Opportunity
We are seeking a hands-on finance leader to oversee all aspects of accounting, financial reporting, planning, cash management, and business analysis for a growing manufacturing organization. Reporting directly to the CEO, this individual will play a critical role in helping the company scale, improve performance, and strengthen financial operations.
This is not a purely accounting-focused role. The ideal candidate will be equally comfortable analyzing business performance, supporting operational decision-making, improving processes, and helping implement the systems and structure needed for continued growth.
Responsibilities
- Lead all budgeting, forecasting, financial planning, and reporting activities.
- Oversee accounting operations, month-end close, financial statements, audits, and internal controls.
- Manage cash flow, working capital, banking relationships, and financial risk.
- Partner with Operations, Engineering, Supply Chain, Sales, and other departments to improve profitability and support business decisions.
- Develop financial models, cost analyses, pricing evaluations, and investment recommendations.
- Improve financial visibility through reporting enhancements, KPIs, dashboards, and business intelligence tools.
- Help build scalable financial processes, systems, and controls that support future growth.
- Lead finance-related initiatives involving process improvement, organizational change, and operational transformation.
- Recruit, develop, and mentor finance team members while fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
- Serve as a trusted advisor to the CEO and leadership team on financial and operational matters.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or related field.
- 10+ years of progressive finance and accounting experience.
- Experience in manufacturing, aerospace, defense, industrial, or similar operational environments preferred.
- Strong background in financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, cost accounting, and cash management.
- Experience leading teams and driving process improvements.
- CPA, MBA, or other advanced credentials are a plus.
