We are seeking an experienced Director of Finance to lead the firm’s financial operations within a sophisticated, relationship‑driven UHNW environment. This is a senior leadership role for a finance professional who values stability, precision, and working closely with executive leadership in a high‑trust organization with minimal turnover.
The Director of Finance will be responsible for maintaining financial integrity across a complex operational platform supporting over $8B in assets, while contributing to long‑term strategic planning and disciplined growth.
Title: Director of Finance
Location: Darien, CT
Potential Compensation: $200,000 to $300,000
Responsibilities:
- Oversee all financial functions, including accounting, financial reporting, budgeting, and forecasting
- Prepare and review financial statements, management reports, and executive‑level analyses
- Ensure compliance with regulatory, tax, and audit requirements relevant to UHNW wealth management
- Establish and maintain strong internal controls, policies, and procedures
- Partner closely with senior leadership on long‑term strategic planning, capital allocation, and financial modeling
- Manage relationships with external auditors, tax advisors, custodians, and banking partners
- Lead, mentor, and develop the finance and accounting team
- Support operational complexity related to trusts, investment entities, and advisory structures
- Identify opportunities to improve processes, scalability, and financial clarity as the firm evolves
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field (CPA, CFA, or MBA strongly preferred)
- 10+ years of progressive finance or accounting experience, ideally within UHNW wealth management, family office, asset management, or professional services
- Experience supporting a firm managing multi‑billion‑dollar assets
- Proven leadership experience with the ability to manage and develop high‑performing teams
- Deep understanding of financial reporting, budgeting, and regulatory environments
- Exceptional attention to detail, judgment, and discretion
- Ability to communicate complex financial matters clearly to senior stakeholders
