I.        Job Summary
This highly analytical Finance Analyst role is to support profitable growth across a national commercial customer base. This role plays a dual mandate within the finance function: driving working capital efficiency and commercial credit strategy, while also advancing the organization’s data analytics and visualization capabilities. The analyst will partner closely with sales, billing and AR management function, advising on customer credit risk, payment term and contract structure to help with balancing commercial competitiveness with disciplined risk management. In parallel, the role will work with other analyst on the team to develop dashboard and Power BI solutions that transform large, complex data set into actionable insights, strengthening decision-making across business. 

This is a hybrid role. WM candidates can work at their current WM site or, if currently remote, at the closest WM location

II.        Essential Duties and Responsibilities
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Other minor duties may be assigned. 

  • Drive working capital efficiency across a national commercial customer base by analyzing accounts receivable, payment behavior, contract terms, and cash flow trends

  • Monitor and assess customer credit risk, including credit exposure, payment patterns, concentration risk, and early warning indicators; this area represents a meaningful portion of the role’s overall responsibilities

  • Partner closely with Sales and Pricing to support commercial credit strategy for customer acquisition, retention, and service expansion decision, including credit limits, payment terms, and contract structures that balance competitiveness with disciplined risk management

  • Advance the finance function’s data analytics and visualization capabilities by building scalable Power BI dashboards and reporting solutions

  • Structure, clean, and integrate large volumes of data from multiple sources to enable efficient, repeatable analysis and decision-making

  • Translate complex financial and operational data into clear insights for finance, sales, operations, and leadership audiences

  • Continuously identify opportunities to improve data quality, reporting efficiency, and analytical processes

IV.       Qualifications
The requirements listed below are representative of the qualifications necessary to perform the job.

A. Education and Experience

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree (accredited) in Economics, Accounting, Finance, or a similar area of study, or equivalent experience (required).
  • Experience: Five (5) years previous experience (in addition to education requirement in FP&A, Data Analytics, Commercial Finance, or a related field.

B. Certificates, Licenses, Registrations or Other Requirements

  • None required.

C. Other Knowledge, Skills or Abilities Required

  • Experienced in financial statement analysis and knowledgeable in core economic evaluation principles.
  • Strong Power BI capabilities, including data modeling, transformation, and dashboard development (DAX experience strongly preferred)
  • Solid understanding of working capital concepts, account receivable dynamics and credit risk fundamentals.
  • Strong analytical mindset with the ability to structure ambiguous problems and develop scalable solutions
  • Ability to collaborate and communicate effectively with non -financial stakeholders
  • Must be authorized to work in the US.
  • Prior experience in the waste management or environmental services industry
  • Experience working in multi-billion-dollar business unit and enterprise 
  • CPA, CFA, MBA or progress toward a professional certification
  • Motivated, detail oriented, and organized.

    The expected base pay range for this hybrid position is $95,700 - $110,000. This range represents a good faith estimate for this position. The specific salary offered to a successful candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors including the candidate’s relevant experience, education, training, certifications, qualifications, and work location.
