Financial Administrator (Property Accounting)

Location: NYC Midtown (In-Office Monday–Thursday, Optional Remote Fridays)

Operating with a lean team, the organization provides strong visibility into both financial operations and asset management, offering team members exposure across the full lifecycle of real estate ownership.


Position Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented and adaptable Financial Administrator to support financial operations across a growing real estate portfolio. This role is ideal for someone with 3–7 years of experience, including hands-on property accounting exposure, who thrives in a dynamic environment and enjoys wearing multiple hats.


This position will report directly to the CFO and Director of Asset Management and will support a portfolio of 20+ properties.


Key Responsibilities

  • Manage full-cycle accounts payable and accounts receivable (AP/AR)
  • Support property-level accounting, including income and expense tracking and reconciliations
  • Assist with monthly close, financial reporting, and variance analysis
  • Maintain accurate financial records across multiple entities and properties
  • Partner with property managers, vendors, and internal stakeholders on financial matters
  • Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow tracking
  • Identify process improvements and support operational efficiency
  • Provide ad hoc financial and administrative support as needed
  • Maintain and update monthly rent rolls


Qualifications

  • 3–7 years of accounting or financial administration experience
  • Property accounting experience strongly preferred
  • Proficiency in QuickBooks (preferred)
  • Experience with Yardi and/or MRI (preferred)
  • Strong understanding of AP/AR and general accounting principles
  • Highly organized with strong attention to detail
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong communication skills and a team-oriented mindset
