Wright Technical Services is supporting a top automation and controls integrator in the search for a Field Systems Sales & Projects Manager. This organization is known for delivering high-quality automation solutions across the metals and manufacturing industries, with a strong reputation for execution and customer satisfaction. Reporting to the Field Service Director, this individual will play a key role in driving sales activity while managing the execution of smaller projects within the Field Systems Group.


Duties:

  • Sales Management: Respond to incoming customer inquiries (phone, email, etc.) and track all opportunities within the CRM system
  • Customer Engagement: Conduct site visits to gather technical requirements, assess scope, and develop accurate proposals
  • Proposal Development: Lead all quote and proposal generation efforts, including technical scope definition and hardware recommendations
  • Opportunity Management: Maintain communication, tracking, and status updates for all active opportunities, supporting conversion from proposal to awarded project
  • Project Execution Support: Assist in transitioning awarded work into execution, ensuring alignment between scope, deliverables, and customer expectations
  • Small Project Management: Manage small projects from kickoff through completion, including scheduling, coordination, and communication with internal teams and customers
  • Financial & ERP Oversight: Analyze project financials using ERP systems to support decision-making and ensure project profitability
  • Change Management: Track and manage change orders, scope adjustments, and customer communications throughout the project lifecycle
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with engineering, field service, accounting, and operations teams to ensure successful project delivery
  • Systems & Process Utilization: Develop proficiency in CRM, ERP, project management, and resource management systems used by the organization


Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field preferred
  • In lieu of a degree, 6+ years of experience in industrial controls and manufacturing environments required
  • 2–5+ years of experience in a controls integration or industrial automation environment preferred
  • Experience with technical sales, proposal development, or applications engineering is highly desirable
  • Familiarity with CRM and ERP systems (e.g., Acumatica)
  • Understanding of industrial control systems and manufacturing processes
