System Diagnostics & Troubleshooting: Perform expert-level troubleshooting of complex low-voltage systems. Rapidly identify and resolve ground faults, open circuits, and communication errors across IP CCTV networks, fire alarm panels, access control, and intrusion detection systems.
Fire Alarm Expertise: Program, test, and maintain commercial fire alarm panels (e.g., Fire-Lite, Notifier, Silent Knight). Perform full system verifications and ensure all smoke detectors, pull stations, and notification appliances are functioning according to fire code.
CCTV & Video Management: Install, aim, and focus IP/analog cameras (including PTZ). Configure NVRs/DVRs, optimize video storage, adjust frame rates, and seamlessly integrate Video Management Systems (VMS) like Milestone, ExacqVision, or Genetec.
Access Control Integration: Wire and install electronic door hardware, magnetic locks, door strikes, and card readers. Configure access control panels and integrate them with overarching building security software.
System Restoration & Configuration: Repair, replace, and configure defective devices. Terminate wires, test circuits, and ensure systems are functioning at 100% capacity.
Network Integration: Assign IP addresses, configure network settings, and ensure seamless communication between hardware devices and head-end software.
Client Consultation: Serve as the face of the company in the field. Provide honest, highly technical solutions to client problems while maintaining a professional appearance and building customer trust.
Documentation: Complete required service tickets, site logs, and material usage reports accurately and in a timely manner.
Stakeholder Communication: Effectively communicate technical information, system statuses, and project updates with clients, project managers, and customer service staff.
SKILLS/ABILITIES
Technical Mastery: Deep understanding of low-voltage circuits, relays, and multi-meter usage. Highly proficient in configuring IP-based security devices and troubleshooting complex system integrations.
Code & Compliance Knowledge: Strong working knowledge of NFPA 72, National Electrical Code (NEC), and local building/fire codes as they relate to low-voltage installations and life safety systems.
Blueprint Reading: Ability to easily read, interpret, and work from blueprints, riser diagrams, and complex technical schematics.
Autonomy & Problem Solving: Strong analytical abilities and a sense of urgency. Must be able to independently assess a broken system, identify the fault, and execute the repair without hand-holding.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE
Experience: 3+ years of direct, hands-on experience installing, programming, and troubleshooting CCTV, Fire Alarms, and Security systems.
Low Voltage & Networking: Advanced knowledge of low-voltage electrical systems and basic IT/networking principles (IP configurations, routers, switches).
Tools: Mastery of the proper use of assorted hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment.
EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION
High school diploma (2-Year Associate degree preferred, but not required).
Fire Alarm Certification (Preferred)
Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
Must pass a background check and pre-employment BCI records check.
