Location: Remote (Must Live Near Major Airport)
Territory: Primarily Southeast U.S.
Travel: Approximately 80%
Compensation: $100,000 Base Salary

Position Overview
We are partnering with a growing automation and robotics organization seeking a highly skilled Field Service Controls Technician to support advanced automated equipment and robotic systems at customer sites throughout the United States.
This position is ideal for a hands-on technician who enjoys troubleshooting complex automation systems, traveling extensively, and working directly with customers to support commissioning, maintenance, repairs, and system optimization efforts. The role will serve as a key technical resource responsible for ensuring customer equipment remains operational and performing at a high level.
Because this is a field-based role, candidates must be comfortable with extensive travel and ideally reside near a major airport.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform troubleshooting, maintenance, and repair of industrial automation and robotic systems.
- Support startup, commissioning, installation, and validation of new equipment.
- Diagnose and resolve PLC, controls, electrical, and mechanical issues in the field.
- Support robotic systems, automated machinery, and integrated manufacturing equipment.
- Work directly with customers to identify and resolve equipment performance issues.
- Perform preventive maintenance and reliability-related activities.
- Assist with system upgrades, modifications, and controls improvements.
- Interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical documentation.
- Document service activities and communicate findings to internal engineering teams.
- Provide technical training and support to customers when required.
- Maintain a high level of customer satisfaction through professional field support.
Qualifications
Required
- 3+ years of experience in industrial maintenance, controls, automation, robotics, or field service.
- Experience troubleshooting PLC-controlled equipment.
- Strong electrical and mechanical troubleshooting skills.
- Ability to read electrical schematics and control drawings.
- Experience working with automated manufacturing, material handling, packaging, or robotic systems.
- Willingness and ability to travel approximately 80% of the time.
- Valid driver's license and ability to travel by air regularly.
Preferred
- Allen-Bradley PLC experience.
- Fanuc, ABB, KUKA, Yaskawa, or other industrial robotics experience.
- Experience commissioning and starting up automated equipment.
- Material handling, warehouse automation, conveyor, or packaging equipment experience.
- Industrial networking and communication protocol knowledge.
- Associate's degree or technical certification in Automation, Mechatronics, Electrical Technology, or related field.
