About the Role
We're looking to grow our Field Quality Specialist team in Phoenix.
The Field Quality Specialist is the essential link between field operations and Encore's high-quality service standards. In this critical role, you will lead field operations and own quality across an assigned portfolio of commercial properties. This position reports to the Manager of Maintenance Operations, and directly supervises 2 to 3 maintenance crews, focusing on accountability and execution to ensure alignment between identified needs, assigned tasks, and completed work.
This is a primarily field-based position requiring extensive daily travel across multiple properties. If you possess a strong leadership presence, a meticulous quality control mindset, and a passion for tangible results, we encourage you to apply.
What You'll Do
- Crew Supervision: Directly supervise 2 to 3 maintenance crews, providing day-to-day coaching, accountability, and development on proper maintenance techniques and safety protocols.
- Quality & Punchlist Management: Own the property punchlist for all assigned properties, including identifying maintenance needs, creating assignments for crews, and tracking completion. Conduct regular property walks and quality audits to ensure consistent adherence to service standards and client satisfaction.
- Field Operations: Lead crews in maintenance activities such as mowing, pruning, planting, and seasonal services. Manage crew scheduling and resource allocation to maximize efficiency, and monitor labor costs to maintain work within budget.
- Compliance: Adhere to and enforce company safety policies, including the safe use of machinery and Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
Who We're Looking For
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 3 years of commercial landscape maintenance experience
- Minimum 1 year of supervisory experience leading field crews
- Strong knowledge of landscape maintenance practices, plant care, and seasonal services
- Demonstrated ability to identify property maintenance needs, develop actionable punchlists, and drive completion
- Demonstrated leadership skills and ability to train, coach and motivate field crews
- Strong attention to detail and quality control mindset
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Proficiency with various systems and mobile technology (such as Slack, ERP, CRM)
- Ability to work independently, manage multiple properties efficiently, and prioritize competing demands
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Valid state driver's license with clearance of five-year MVR record in accordance with Encore Landscape Management MVR standards and policies
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bilingual English/Spanish strongly preferred
- Bachelor's degree in Horticulture, Landscape Management, or related field, or equivalent experience
- Industry certifications in turf management, plant care, irrigation, or equipment operation
- Experience with commercial property maintenance and client relations
- Knowledge of irrigation systems and water management practices
- Experience with crew scheduling and resource optimization
- Previous experience in field supervisor, quality control or quality assurance roles
- Strong analytical skills and ability to identify process improvements
Physical Requirements
This is a highly active, field-based role that requires extensive physical activity and frequent travel between multiple commercial properties. You must be able to work outdoors in various weather conditions, including heat, cold, and rain, with exposure to dust and equipment.
The position requires the capacity to walk and stand for extended periods daily on uneven terrain for property inspections, frequently bend, kneel, stoop, squat, and crouch to assess landscape quality, and regularly perform heavy lifting, pushing, and pulling up to 50 pounds.
You must also possess the visual acuity to inspect fine details of property conditions and the ability to hear and communicate effectively in environments with operating equipment.
