Our client, a global leader in high-performance interconnect solutions that is continuing to expand its presence within AI infrastructure, enterprise server, cloud, and networking markets.
This position focuses heavily on high-speed connector and cable solutions supporting next-generation AI servers, GPU platforms, networking systems, and datacenter infrastructure. The company is seeking a highly technical and customer-facing engineer capable of supporting strategic accounts throughout the Bay Area, including some of the world’s leading technology companies.
The ideal candidate will have a strong electrical or mechanical engineering foundation combined with customer-facing technical support, applications engineering, design-in support, or technical sales experience. Individuals with backgrounds in high-speed interconnects, signal integrity, enterprise servers, networking hardware, or AI/datacenter infrastructure are especially encouraged to apply.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Serve as the primary technical interface between customers and internal engineering teams for high-speed interconnect solutions.
- Support design-in activities for connectors, cable assemblies, and next-generation AI/datacenter interconnect architectures.
- Work directly with customer engineering teams to identify technical opportunities and drive new design wins.
- Provide system-level technical support involving high-speed connectivity, signal integrity, server platforms, networking systems, and enterprise infrastructure.
- Support validation, troubleshooting, root-cause analysis, and issue resolution related to customer hardware implementations.
- Coordinate closely with global engineering, manufacturing, product management, and sales teams to support customer programs.
- Participate in technical presentations, customer meetings, roadmap discussions, and product demonstrations.
- Assist customers with product integration, qualification, and performance optimization activities.
- Support ongoing NPI, sustaining engineering, and customer development programs.
- Travel up to 20–25% as needed, including occasional international travel.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- B.S. or higher in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or similar.
- 5+ years of engineering experience, including experience in application engineering, product development, customer support, systems engineering, field engineering, or related technical roles.
- Background in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, signal integrity, power delivery, interconnect technologies, datacenter infrastructure, networking systems, server platforms, or related areas.
- Basic understanding of server, networking, datacom, AI infrastructure, or related hardware ecosystems.
- Experience supporting customer-facing engineering activities and technical discussions.
- Ability to analyze technical issues, support product integration, and work across multiple engineering disciplines.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with customers, sales teams, product management, engineering, and manufacturing organizations.
- Experience working with global teams across multiple time zones.
- Team-oriented with the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
- Understanding of customer requirements, market needs, and competitive technologies.
- Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive, results-oriented mindset.
‘BONUS’ QUALIFICATIONS (NOT REQUIRED):
- Experience as a Field Applications Engineer (FAE), Applications Engineer (AE), Systems Engineer, Product Engineer, Technical Sales Engineer, or similar customer-facing technical role.
- Experience with connectors, cable assemblies, interconnect products, power solutions, thermal solutions, datacenter hardware, networking equipment, servers, storage systems, or related technologies.
- Familiarity with AI infrastructure, cloud infrastructure, hyperscale datacenters, OEM/ODM environments, or enterprise networking.
- Experience supporting new product introduction (NPI), product qualification, manufacturing ramp, yield improvement, or customer launch activities.
- Experience with mechanical CAD tools, SI analysis tools, lab equipment, validation, debugging, or product qualification activities.
- Mandarin language skills and/or experience working closely with Asia-based engineering and manufacturing organizations are helpful but not required.
