Within the AVS R&D (Audio/Video Solutions) organization, you are based in Denver at a Tier‑1 customer site and act as the interface between this customer, our R&D teams in France,Tunisia and our local team in NYC. You will be managed by a project manager based in NYC.


The Field Application Engineer (FAE) is the primary local technical resource supporting remote R&D teams (based in France or Tunisia) as well as Sagemcom customers, notably large Tier‑1 Pay TV and Internet operators in North America.


The FAE plays a customer‑focused role that involves gathering customer requirements and feedback, and working closely with Sagemcom Engineering teams to align complex CPE hardware and software solutions with those requirements. This role requires detailed knowledge of Sagemcom solutions as well as advanced communication skills to effectively share this knowledge with both customers and Sagemcom internal teams.


Responsibilities Include:

  • Validate and qualify the STB/VSB product within the customer's local ecosystem and communicate, interact, and report to the R&D teams in France or Tunisia.
  • Serve as a subject matter reference on Sagemcom Audio and Video product offerings for all customer-facing technical activities through development, debug including on-site support of customer certification testing.
  • Act as a trusted point of contact for customers to ensure long-term satisfaction and successful deployment of Sagemcom solutions.
  • Document customer requirements and clearly communicate those requirements to internal Product and Engineering teams.
  • Own customer issues from initial reporting through resolution, including lab replication and validation of fixes.
  • Support customers across North America, including regular travel to customer sites for meetings, technical workshops, certifications, trials, and issue resolution


Requirements:

  • Master's Degree in a technical field with minimum 3 years' experience in engineering or technical role and in a customer-facing position.
  • Previous technical experience in the Set-Top-Box industry is required.
  • Domain knowledge and practical experience with the following technologies: Digital Video Broadcast, Over-the-Top Video, Audio streaming and rendering, WiFi, Android TV Operator tier, home networking and device management.
  • Hands-on experience in Telecom and Audio & Video on software and hardware solutions, with a wide breadth and ability to deep-dive into different technical areas as needed.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, including the ability to understand problems and clearly communicate at several levels.
  • Organized and able to work on multiple projects in parallel with a track record of success under challenging timelines.
  • Accept responsibility, be self-motivated, and demonstrate accountability for contributing to revenue growth, customer satisfaction, and strategic business objectives.
