Job Summary and Responsibilities

Performs diagnostic and vascular procedures on patients using ultrasound waves to examine tissue and body structures. Obtains patient history, explains routine procedures and addresses patient concerns. Responsible for maintaining patient record and files.



Performs all ultrasound techniques and examinations, abdominal scans, retroperitoneal scans, limited obstetric and gynecological scans, and a variety of tests to include, but not limited to, carotid imaging, peripheral plethysmography, doppler wave form, segmental pressure, venous imaging, and thoracic outlet studies.

  • Demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served.
  • Performs procedures to ensure quality patient care in accordance with Radiologist’s expectations and protocols.
  • Displays knowledge and complies with the National Patient Safety goals.
  • Supports and reports any identified compliance matters.
  • Participates in hospital and department quality assurance programs to ensure safety and satisfaction.
  • Maintains professional development and education for technical competency.

Job Requirements

Required

  • Graduate from a school accredited of Radiologic Technology, , upon hire or
  • Graduate of AMA Accredited Sonography Program,, upon hire or
  • Graduate of accredited School of Diagnostic Medical Sonography and equivalent clinical experience., upon hire
  • Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer, within 12 - months or
  • Registered Cardiac Electr, within 12 - months or
  • Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist, within 12 - months or
  • Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer Abdomen, within 12 - months or
  • Registered Technologist Computed Tomography, within 12 - months or
  • Registered Technologist Radiography ARRT, within 12 - months or
  • Registered Technologist Vascular Sonography, within 12 - months or
  • Registered Vascular Specialist, within 12 - months or
  • Registered Cardiac Sonographer CCI, within 12 - months or
  • Registered Vascular Technologist, within 12 - months and
  • Basic Life Support - CPR, upon hire
