Job Summary and Responsibilities

As a Cardiovascular Technologist, you will be at the forefront of cardiac care, utilizing cutting-edge imaging technology to directly impact life-saving diagnostic and interventional procedures.

Every day, you will expertly perform specialized interventional diagnostic and therapeutic examinations of the heart and blood vessels under physician guidance, meticulously preparing patients, operating advanced radiologic equipment, and contributing critical data for interpretation. You'll ensure the safe, efficient operation of all equipment while maintaining mastery of our latest standards and protocols.

To be successful in this role, you will combine advanced technical proficiency in cardiovascular imaging with a meticulous eye for detail, a commitment to patient safety, and a drive for continuous learning within a dynamic and collaborative Cath Lab team.

  • Performs all non invasive studies to include Electrocardiograms, Signal Average ECG, Holter Monitors, Cardiovascular Stress Tests, Pacemaker Analysis, Vascular and/or Echocardiographic Ultrasound, as well as the ability to perform Cardiac Cath pressure monitoring. Follows established procedure in the performance of all studies and observes safety
  • precautions in the use and application of equipment. Observes and records thorough and accurate tests.
  • Carries out responsibilities appropriate to the established test and clerical procedures. Complies with procedures for the identification of tests, maintenance of cardiac files and patient's charts. Participates in clerical and reception activities.
  • Complies with procedure for the maintenance of supplies and equipment and carries out duties necessary to comply with related needs. Maintenance of a safe and orderly work area, which includes responsibilities for assisting with cleanup duties and equipment storage in appropriate areas. Maintains a surveillance of environmental conditions within the Cardiology Department. Follows established safety, emergency and infections control policies and procedures.
  • Displays appropriate attitude and behavior. Demonstrates an understanding of CHW and NHMC's philosophy and shared values and incorporates them into daily performance.
  • Complies with ethical and legal responsibilities and restrictions; established lines of authority, supervision and communication. Demonstrates care, concern and courtesy when providing patient care services; while maintaining patient dignity. C. Performs those job duties assigned by the Director/Supervisor

Job Requirements

Required

  • Graduate from an accredited school of Cardiopulmonary Technology
  • Minimum two year degree or equivalent in physiology, anatomy, physics, mathematics and electronics required.
  • Must have minimum one year experience performing all cardiac and/or vascular procedures and Cardiac Cath Lab monitoring capabilities.
  • Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer or
  • Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer or
  • Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer Adult Echo or
  • Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer Fetal Echo or
  • Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer Pediatric Echo or
  • Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer Abdomen or
  • Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer Breast or
  • Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer Neurosonology or
  • Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer OB/GYN or
  • Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer Pediatric Sono or
  • Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist, and
  • AHA Basic Life Support - CPR
  • Fire Safety, within 90 Days
