IT FAB Leader / IT Manufacturing Systems Leader

Role Overview
Senior IT leader responsible for overseeing all technology, infrastructure, and automation systems supporting a large-scale, highly automated manufacturing facility. This role serves as the primary on-site IT authority for the FAB, ensuring operational stability (“keep the lights on”) while driving continuous improvement, automation, and innovation across factory systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Own end-to-end IT operations for the manufacturing facility, including infrastructure, data center operations, factory systems, and automation platforms
- Lead a team of software engineers, system administrators, and automation specialists supporting both legacy and modern technology stacks
- Serve as the primary interface between the on-site FAB and a centralized corporate IT organization based out of state
- Ensure 24/7 stability, reliability, and performance of manufacturing and infrastructure systems
- Balance maintenance-heavy responsibilities with innovation and continuous improvement initiatives
- Drive automation on the factory floor to improve throughput, quality, and cost efficiency
- Oversee and optimize Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES) in a highly automated, SKU-intensive environment
- Own on-premise data center infrastructure supporting the facility, including rack management and databases
- Partner closely with manufacturing, engineering, and operations teams to align IT capabilities with production needs
- Lead software development efforts as they relate to manufacturing infrastructure, system integration, and process improvement
- Act as a hands-on leader when needed, comfortable working directly with both legacy and modern technologies
Technology Environment
- Legacy on‑prem infrastructure alongside modern cloud platforms
- Oracle-based databases and rack management systems
- Cloud exposure across AWS, Azure, and GCP
- Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES) in high-volume production environments
- Scripting and development using C#, Python, and related tools
Leadership Scope
- On-site leader managing a team of approximately 13 IT professionals
- Internally focused role, partnering primarily with internal stakeholders and corporate IT leadership
- Reports to an executive leader based remotely
