Role: As a member of our Middle Market Casualty practice, you will join us on our journey with clarity and determination to reshape the middle market insurance landscape. Ategrity’s underwriting methodology is characterized by deep specialization, a concentrated risk appetite, and the delivery of exceptional service. Currently, we specialize in three key segments of the casualty market: 1). Construction, 2). Hospitality, and 3). Residential Real Estate. In this role, you will manage the production of a growing product line and maintain existing business through effective account relationship management to achieve profitability goals. Success in this position hinges on your ability to collaborate effectively within a team and your interpersonal skill proficiency. This role will report to the AVP, Excess Casualty. There will be approximately 20% travel for this position. In addition to an attractive benefits package and 401(k) savings plan, we provide unlimited Paid Time Off (PTO) and the option for a flexible work schedule.


Responsibilities

Deliver Results

  • Analyze and underwrite new and renewal excess casualty business, ensuring the delivery of exceptional service to our partners.
  • Access risk acceptability in accordance with our underwriting guidelines and the underwriting authority granted to you.
  • Maintain our standards of excellence through effective communication.
  • Develop a comprehensive understanding of coverage forms, rating plans, and guidelines in the selection and pricing of individual risks.
  • Ensure adequate pricing of individual risks by proper classification, verifying the accuracy of information, and adhering to the company’s underwriting guidelines and philosophy.
  • Achieve our ambitious growth goals by taking responsibility for your own business objectives.
  • Build a diversified portfolio with a high potential for renewal.


Technical Underwriting

  • Ensure that underwriting decisions are made with precision and accuracy, adhering to our proprietary rate plans and underwriting guidelines.


Distribution and Service

  • Pay meticulous attention to details at every touchpoint to maintain a high level of underwriting rigor, without introducing inefficiency or burdening our partners.


Qualifications/Requirements

  • A minimum of 2 years of working knowledge in E&S casualty products, insurance concepts, underwriting processes and procedures, and relevant laws and regulations.
  • 2 years experience in P&C insurance, preferably at an E&S carrier or 2 years of outside industry experience with a strong desire to pursue a career in insurance underwriting.
  • B.A./B.S. degree from an accredited college or university.
