GMW is seeking an experienced Aerospace Estimator/Planner. This position will be primarily estimating of manufacturing costs to prepare customer quotes. Will also be cross-train to perform Manufacturing Planning functions as needed.

Essential Functions

  • Using customer supplied data (drawings, parts lists, and specifications) to generate comprehensive cost estimates for details and assemblies
  • Break down Bill of Materials to prepare materials, labor, and finish process estimates
  • Consult with customers, vendors, and internal personnel to formulate cost estimates
  • Meet deadlines and document progress
  • Prepare/format quotes for submission to customers
  • Conduct special studies to develop time standards
  • Create manufacturing plans (methods) using MRP system (planning function)


Skills Required

  • Experience with Milling, Turning, and Assembly of aerospace products
  • Ability to understand Engineering Drawings, Parts Lists, and Specifications
  • Strong attention to detail and organization skills
  • Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and manage time effectively
  • Effectively communicate with internal personnel, customers, and vendors as needed
  • Flexible, dependable, and time conscious, with ability to move from project to project with minimal supervision
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel
  • Experience with an MRP or similar system
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience as an Estimator &/or Planner role

The employee must occasionally lift or move office products and supplies, up to 20 pounds.


Work Environment

This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment. Occasionally you may need to enter the machine shop where high-speed machinery and equipment is used. There is exposure to machine oil, metal filings, unpleasant odors and noise. Job functions on and around mechanized equipment will present the need for alertness, accuracy and safety awareness.
