Chandler Law was founded in 2011 by Douglas Chandler, a twenty-seven-year attorney with a well-established reputation in legal ethics, malpractice, and estate litigation. We are a growing, relationship-driven law firm serving professionals, business owners, attorneys, and their families through sophisticated planning, protection, and advisory services. Our practice combines high-level estate, elder law, special needs, and professional liability counsel with a collaborative, compassionate approach centered on long-term trust and client relationships.
Position Overview
We are seeking an Associate Attorney with strong estate planning, elder law and advanced tax planning experience. We have a preference for candidates with an LL.M. in Taxation. Business planning and succession planning experience is a plus.
This role is ideal for an attorney who is both technically strong and energized by connecting with people. In addition to client-facing legal work, this attorney will serve as a visible representative of the firm by leading educational workshops and building relationships within the community.
This position also offers a unique opportunity to gain exposure to our professional liability and ethics defense practice, as well as sophisticated planning for lawyers and business owners, including succession planning. The role is designed to deepen the attorney’s judgment, technical skill, and long-term advisory capabilities.
Key Responsibilities
- Advise clients on estate planning strategies, including wills, trusts, and advanced tax planning techniques.
- Counsel clients on elder law matters, including incapacity planning and long-term care considerations.
- Assist clients with business succession planning, including ownership transition and continuity planning.
- Lead client meetings with clarity, empathy, and professionalism.
- Conduct live, in-person educational workshops and seminars for high-earning professionals with children.
- Build and maintain relationships within the local community and professional networks.
- Represent the firm with confidence, warmth, and credibility in public-facing settings.
- Collaborate with attorneys and staff to deliver a seamless, high-quality client experience.
- Assist, as needed, with matters related to professional liability and legal ethics defense involving estate planning and tax malpractice issues.
- Develop an understanding of the applicable standard of care across various practice areas, including estate planning, tax, probate and trust administration.
- Stay current on developments in tax law, estate planning, elder law, business succession planning, and legal ethics.
Qualifications
- J.D. from an accredited law school
- LL.M. in Taxation preferred
- 3+ years in estate planning, elder law, tax planning, or related practice areas
- Experience in, exposure to, or a strong interest in business succession planning
- Licensed to practice law in Georgia and in good standing with the State Bar of Georgia
- Excellent drafting, analytical, and communication skills
- Comfortable with public speaking and client-facing presentations

Compensation & Benefits
- Salary $95,000, commensurate with experience
- Bonus opportunities based on achievement of estate planning division firm revenue goals
