THE ROLE


We're hiring an associate attorney who is outgoing, growth-oriented, and energized by building lasting client relationships.


This is not a behind-the-door, document-assembly position. You will meet directly with clients, lead consultations, present at public workshops and community events, and build referral relationships while doing serious, sophisticated legal work for successful clients.


You will have a strong team around you - capable paralegals, intake coordinators, and support staff - so you can stay focused on guiding clients and other work that requires your legal judgment. You will also be expected to understand where clients come from and to contribute actively to the firm's growth.

WHAT YOU WILL DO


Client Service & Legal Work


  • Conduct consultations and guide clients through the estate planning process
  • Advise on trusts, wills, powers of attorney, advance directives, beneficiary designations, and asset titling; over time, you'll also advise on advanced planning strategies
  • Supervise document preparation and execution in partnership with paralegals and support staff
  • Administer trust, probate, guardianship, and conservatorship matters
  • Advise on elder law matters including Medicaid planning and long-term care strategies


Business Development & Community Presence


  • Present at the firm's recurring public workshops and educational classes
  • Build referral relationships with financial advisors, CPAs, and other estate-adjacent professionals
  • Represent the firm at networking events, professional groups, and community gatherings
  • Meet defined standards and revenue contribution metrics


Team Contribution


  • Serve as a mentor and escalation point for paralegals on substantive legal questions
  • Participate in EOS rhythms: weekly team meetings, quarterly planning, annual goal-setting
  • Contribute to process improvement and quality standards as the firm continues to grow

REQUIREMENTS


Required


  • J.D. from an ABA-accredited law school
  • Active Colorado bar license in good standing
  • Minimum 2 years' private practice experience
  • Strong client relationship and communication skills; you can guide clients and lead the room
  • Comfort with public speaking and workshop presentation


Strongly Preferred


  • Estate planning, trust administration, and/or probate experience
  • Elder law experience (Medicaid planning, guardianship/conservatorship)
  • Track record of or genuine appetite for business development and referral-building
  • Familiarity with Clio or comparable practice management platforms


COMPENSATION & BENEFITS


  • Total compensation $98,000–$140,000 based on skills and experience
  • Additional bonuses tied to firm goal attainment
