Overview: LHH is partnering with a well‑established, multi‑office law firm to identify an Estate Administration Paralegal to join its Raleigh, North Carolina office. This role supports attorneys in the administration of estates, trusts, and guardianships and plays a key role in delivering high‑quality client service throughout the probate process.
This opportunity is ideal for an experienced paralegal who is comfortable managing estate matters from start to finish, enjoys direct client interaction, and brings strong organizational and analytical skills to a collaborative legal environment. The ideal candidate is detail‑oriented, proactive, and capable of working independently while partnering closely with attorneys and team members.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist attorneys with the administration of estates, trusts, and guardianships
- Draft correspondence and probate‑related legal documents, including inventories and accountings
- Communicate with clients, beneficiaries, financial institutions, insurance companies, court administrators, and public officials
- Gather and organize financial and administrative information related to estate matters
- Assist with tax‑related components of estate administration, including preparation of required filings
- Track deadlines and ensure compliance with probate and administrative requirements
- Stay current on procedural and administrative changes impacting estate matters
- Perform all paralegal duties in compliance with NC State Bar Rules of Professional Conduct under attorney supervision
- Handle additional responsibilities as assigned
Qualifications:
- 3–5 years of paralegal experience, preferably focused on estate administration
- Combination of paralegal and accounting education or experience strongly considered
- Ability to manage estate matters independently from initiation through closing
- Strong time management, organizational, and problem‑solving skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a client‑service mindset
- High level of attention to detail with strong proofreading capabilities
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and general online research tools
- NC Notary Public commission required or ability to obtain
