Senior Equipment Technician – Dry Etch (High‑Tech Semiconductor)

Role Overview
This position is responsible for advanced repair, calibration, troubleshooting, and preventive maintenance of semiconductor equipment in the Dry Etch area. The ideal candidate demonstrates strong technical depth, leadership capability, and the ability to work independently on complex tasks.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform advanced troubleshooting, repairs, calibrations, and preventive maintenance on Dry Etch semiconductor equipment.
- Lead problem‑solving efforts for complex equipment issues and participate in cross‑functional resolution teams.
- Work closely under the direction of Equipment Engineers or Engineering Managers to support improvement initiatives.
- Develop creative, effective solutions to recurring equipment failures and technical challenges.
- Analyze equipment performance data and collaborate with Engineering to implement corrective actions based on Pareto analysis and tool‑specific deficiencies.
- Improve and refine existing maintenance procedures, documentation, and systems.
- Provide technical training and mentorship to junior technicians.
- Interface with vendors and direct onsite support to resolve equipment‑related failures.
- Troubleshoot and repair equipment down to the component level when required.
- Take a lead role in resolving process issues and supporting yield investigations.
- Exercise sound judgment when making recommendations and executing assignments.
- Lead or support ERT/Safety events in the absence of supervision.
- Ensure required spare parts are ordered and tracked to minimize MTTR.
- Work independently with minimal supervision while contributing effectively to team goals.
Job Requirements
- Associate of Science degree in Electronics or related field, or equivalent experience.
- 5+ years of technical experience in the semiconductor industry.
- Strong working knowledge of advanced electro‑mechanical systems, including vacuum systems, pneumatics, electronic theory, motor control, and circuit fundamentals.
- Ability to troubleshoot to the component level.
- Direct experience with at least one of the following toolsets is required:
- TEL Unity
- LAM 2300 / 9400 PTX
- Fusion
Compensation
$28/hr – $45/hr (Higher rates available for candidates with strong direct semiconductor experience.)
