A Manufacturing CFA Shift Process Technician with ON Semiconductor in Nampa works on a shift team to support manufacture of Image Sensor product lines. The primary responsibility of the Manufacturing CFA Shift Process team is to sustain Color Filter Array (CFA) manufacturing processes, which is photolithography, wet process, dry etch, metrology, and real-time defect analysis (RDA), and drive engineering issues to resolution.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Develop an in-depth understanding of how the color filter array (CFA) process is performed to be able to diagnose issues that occur during this process
  • Apply statistical process control (SPC) and data analysis skills to investigate process control charts, react to out of control/specification (OOC/OOS) conditions, and implement corrective actions
  • Develop engineering skills to evaluate process results using statistical methods, implement solutions, and make recommendations for process improvements
  • Identify key manufacturing issues 
  • Develop advanced skills on the metrology equipment to be able to perform in-depth product analysis and data collection, including recipe creation and metrology equipment troubleshooting.
  • Prepare thorough written and verbal pass-downs of shift activities, tool issues, process issues, and project status
  • Work closely with the lead engineer and production supervisor, keeping them advised of area issues and progress
