Role Overview:

We are looking for a hands-on Equipment Engineer with strong experience in lyophilization (freeze drying) and equipment commissioning to support installation, FAT/SAT, and troubleshooting activities across life sciences and biotech environments.

This is a highly execution-focused role suited for professionals who enjoy working directly on equipment, supporting field activities, and ensuring optimal performance of critical manufacturing systems.


Responsibilities:

  • Support installation, commissioning, and FAT/SAT activities for new and existing equipment in GMP environments
  • Perform corrective, preventive, and predictive maintenance on freeze dryers and related process equipment
  • Participate in site readiness and installation activities, including equipment assembly and setup
  • Configure and calibrate field instruments such as pressure transmitters, flow meters, and temperature probes
  • Perform hands-on troubleshooting across mechanical, electrical, and PLC-controlled systems
  • Execute I/O checks, electrical walkdowns, hardware interlock verification, and voltage/current testing
  • Support both on-site and remote fault finding to ensure minimal downtime and system reliability
  • Train operators and production teams on equipment functionality and operational best practices
  • Maintain clear documentation and reporting of technical issues, observations, and corrective actions
  • Collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, OEMs, and cross-functional teams during commissioning and operational phases
  • Apply lyophilization expertise to support equipment lifecycle management and long-term system performance


Required Experience & Skills

  • Hands-on experience with freeze dryers / lyophilization systems in pharmaceutical, biotech, or life sciences environments
  • Strong background in electro-mechanical systems and maintenance
  • Experience supporting equipment installation, commissioning, and/or SAT activities
  • Working knowledge of PLC-controlled equipment and industrial automation systems
  • Strong troubleshooting and fault isolation skills across mechanical, electrical, and control systems
  • Ability to work independently on-site and interface directly with customers and stakeholders


Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electronic Engineering, Electro-Mechanical Engineering, or related field
  • Equivalent hands-on field experience will also be considered
