Environmental Services (EVS) Operations Manager

Acute Care Hospital | Second Shift

We are seeking an Environmental Services (EVS) Operations Manager for a regional acute care hospital. This leader will report to the EVS Assistant Director and Director and play a key role in managing day‑to‑day environmental services operations across the facility.

This position is highly engaged and visible, with a strong on‑the‑floor presence, including some patient‑facing responsibility related to service and experience concerns. The EVS Operations Manager will oversee hospital cleaning, infection prevention standards, and emergency cleaning response while motivating and supporting frontline teams.

The role supports a well‑established leadership structure, joining three current Operations Managers, with plans to expand the team for improved weekend coverage and operational efficiency.

Schedule:

• Second shift: 2:00 PM – 10:00 PM

• Must be flexible to rotate some weekend days (reduced once team is fully staffed)

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage daily EVS operations to ensure high standards of cleanliness, infection prevention, and patient satisfaction
• Coordinate frontline staff assignments to ensure cost‑effective and efficient service delivery
• Maintain an active presence on the units and serve as a liaison between EVS, clinical teams, and hospital leadership
• Conduct inspections and provide recommendations related to environmental standards and improvement opportunities
• Prepare operational and quality reports related to department initiatives
• Assist with staffing plans, schedules, and workflow optimization
• Build strong relationships with staff, administration, and other departments
• Coordinate with external vendors (pest control, waste services, window cleaning, floor projects, and repairs)
• Ensure compliance with all hospital, system, and regulatory policies and procedures

Requirements:

• High School Diploma required
• Previous EVS experience in a healthcare setting is required
• Proven ability to motivate teams and communicate effectively
• Experience managing or coordinating frontline operations in a hospital environment
• Strong focus on patient experience, service excellence, and quality improvement

Compensation & Benefits:

• $32.08 – $48.15 per hour (Dependent on Experience)
