Our client is seeking a Senior Environmental Project Manager for their North Carolina office (Charlotte, Raleigh). This position is for an engineering consulting firm that provides geotechnical and environmental consulting, construction materials testing, and special inspection services.


Pay: 115k - 150k

Key Responsibilities:

• Managing, permitting, planning, compliance and environmental oversight of projects involving due diligence, including multi-media compliance reviews and ASTM-compliant Phase I and II Environmental Site Assessments.

• Managing multiple projects within the scope/budget/schedule expectations and ensuring quality standards on project deliverables.

• Managing the overall delivery of projects including project planning and controls, financial management, change management, risk management, and contract/subcontract management.

• Effectively stewarding and building client relationships to repeat business; working effectively with project teams, clients, and all other stakeholders.

• Developing business opportunities with new and existing clients and preparing associated proposals.

• Health and safety stewardship, including local field visits.

• May require some regional travel for specific projects up to 5-10% of the time.


Basic Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in environmental or earth sciences; or environmental, civil, or chemical engineering; or a related field. (required)

• Minimum 8 years (10+ years preferred) of experience in an environmental consulting environment, or equivalent combination of education and experience. (required)

• Significant experience with Phase I and Phase II Environmental Site Assessments. (strongly preferred)

• Prior experience or training regarding environmental compliance and related federal and state environmental regulations desirable such as Brownfield and Voluntary Remediation Programs.

• Current OSHA 40-hr HAZWOPER training and refreshers. (preferred)

• Strong written and oral communication skills.

• Strong computer skills required. Must have demonstrated strength and proficiency in Microsoft applications such as MS Excel, MS Word, etc. and the ability to learn other software applications. Experience with ArcGIS a plus.
