About the opportunity
RL Enterprise Recruiting & Staffing is hiring an EHS Specialist on behalf of our industrial manufacturing client in Estill, SC. This is a critical role supporting a comprehensive Environmental, Health & Safety program at a busy production facility. The specialist will drive continuous improvement across safety, health, and environmental compliance — partnering closely with site and regional leadership.
What you'll do
- Support development and continuous improvement of EHS programs, standards, and initiatives across the facility
- Conduct risk assessments, safety inspections, and incident investigations; facilitate root cause analysis and corrective actions
- Collect and manage data for environmental regulatory reporting and permit submittals
- Facilitate site safety committees and drive engagement in EHS ownership
- Deliver and coordinate EHS training programs to ensure regulatory compliance
- Serve as a liaison between site management, risk management, and human resources on EHS matters
- Support emergency management and business continuity planning
- Track leading and lagging EHS indicators and take proactive corrective action
What we're looking for
- Bachelor's or Associate's degree with 3+ years of EHS experience, or 5+ years of EHS experience without a degree
- Working knowledge of OSHA, EPA, and applicable federal, state, and local EHS regulations
- Experience with safety inspections, risk assessments, and incident investigations
- Strong communication skills with the ability to engage diverse audiences across all levels
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) for reporting, data tracking, and presentations
- Ability to manage multiple priorities independently and as part of a team
Bonus qualifications
- Experience with OSHA VPP, ISO 45001, or ISO 14001
- Background in heavy or industrial manufacturing environments
- Prior experience with enterprise-wide EHS information management systems
- Experience with multinational companies and progressive EHS programs
