Entry-Level Trades Laborer / General Laborer

Job Overview

We are hiring multiple entry-level General Laborers who are interested in building a long-term career in the skilled trades. This is a hands-on role ideal for individuals who enjoy working with their hands, learning from experienced tradespeople, and being part of construction projects from start to finish. No formal trade experience is required—we are willing to train candidates with a strong work ethic, reliable attendance, and a positive attitude.

This position provides exposure to carpentry, HVAC, plumbing, and sheet metal work, making it an excellent starting point for anyone looking to grow into an apprenticeship or journeyman role.


What You’ll Do
  • Assist skilled tradespeople such as carpenters, plumbers, and HVAC technicians on job sites
  • Perform general construction and demolition tasks
  • Load, unload, move, and stage materials and tools
  • Clean and prepare job sites before, during, and after work is completed
  • Use basic hand and power tools safely and effectively
  • Assemble and dismantle scaffolding and temporary structures as needed
  • Support fabrication work in the shop during slower on-site periods
What We’re Looking For
  • Interest in learning a skilled trade and growing long term with a company
  • Ability to lift up to 70 lbs and perform physical work outdoors in varying weather
  • Reliable attendance and willingness to follow safety procedures
  • Basic math skills (reading tape measures, measurements, simple calculations)
  • Mechanically inclined or comfortable working with tools
  • Ability to take direction and work as part of a team
Experience & Skills
  • 0–5 years of construction, labor, or outdoor work experience
  • Entry-level candidates encouraged to apply
  • Blueprint reading experience is a plus, but not required
  • Prior tool or shop experience is helpful but not necessary

Work Schedule & Environment
  • Monday–Friday, typically 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM
  • Overtime opportunities available
  • Some projects may follow four 10-hour shifts or standard 8-hour shifts
  • Work performed at various job sites (apartments, healthcare facilities, commercial projects)
  • Safety-focused, team-oriented construction environment
Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Big Lake, MN.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $28.00/hr.
