Our client, a leader in the engineering and data center industry, is seeking an Electrical Technician to join their team. As an Electrical Technician, you will be part of the Facilities Operations group supporting critical infrastructure management. This is an entry-level opportunity, ideal for candidates coming from an HVAC or related technical background who are looking to grow within the data center and electrical field.

Pay Range: $28/hour

Work Schedule & Shift Structure
Schedule:

  • 12-hour shifts (PST)
  • Day: 7:00 AM – 7:30 PM
  • Night: 7:30 PM – 7:00 AM
Work Patterns:
  • Front Half: Sun–Tue + alternating Wed
  • Back Half: Wed–Fri + alternating Sat
  • Day and Night shifts available for both patterns

What’s the Job?
  • Support data center operations through supervised hands-on work and shadowing senior technicians
  • Perform daily equipment and environmental monitoring across electrical, mechanical, HVAC, and life safety systems
  • Monitor BMS/EPMS systems and escalate alarms and abnormal conditions per procedure
  • Execute preventive maintenance on critical infrastructure under approved methods and supervision
  • Adhere strictly to all MOPs, SOPs, and ESOPs while documenting all work and participating in training

What’s Needed?
  • Bachelor’s Degree or Technical Degree (Military, Trade School, or equivalent experience preferred).
  • 0–2 years of relevant experience in data center, HVAC, facilities, or engineering environments (HVAC experience welcomed).
  • Candidates with transferable experience may come from electrical‑focused roles and environments where power reliability, safety, and procedure‑driven operations are critical.
  • Relevant backgrounds include
    • Electrical Maintenance Technicians
    • Electrician Apprentice or Junior Electricians
    • Industrial Electricians or Facilities Electricians
    • Generator Technicians or Emergency Power Technicians
    • UPS Technicians or Battery Service Technicians
    • Switchgear or Electrical Testing/Commissioning Assistants
    • Junior Controls or Building Automation Technicians with hands‑on panel and troubleshooting experience
  • Transferrable work environments include:
    • Industrial manufacturing plants
    • Hospitals and healthcare campuses
    • Utilities or power generation facilities
    • Telecom central offices
    • Large commercial or institutional facilities with central plants
    • Other mission‑critical or high‑uptime operations
  • Ideal candidates bring foundational electrical knowledge such as working with panels, breakers, motors, basic power distribution, meters, and lockout/tagout procedures, along with exposure to generators, ATS, UPS, or battery systems, preventive maintenance routines, equipment rounds, alarm response, and documentation.
  • Experience in 24/7 operations, safety‑regulated environments, or roles requiring strict adherence to procedures is highly valued. While prior data center experience is not required, candidates should demonstrate the ability and willingness to develop deeper expertise in data center electrical systems and critical infrastructure operations through structured on‑the‑job training and certifications.
  • Ability and willingness to learn electrical and data center systems in an entry-level role.
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Fundamental knowledge or interest in critical infrastructure systems, low-voltage cabling, and networking concepts is a plus.

  • 24-Hour HAZWOPER
  • Data Center Safety Training
