ATR International is hiring a Engineering Technician for a major client!
About the Role
As a Hardware Engineering Technician, you will support onsite engineering teams with hardware troubleshooting, rework, assembly, and prototype builds. You will also contribute to hardware design support activities by partnering with component engineering, mechanical engineering, PWB CAD, sourcing, program management, and technology teams to help complete lab and test hardware designs. Success in this role requires strong technical skills, clear communication, and the ability to work effectively with teams across the USA, India, and Europe.
Key Responsibilities
- Troubleshoot hardware issues and perform root cause analysis on rework failures
- Prepare, load, solder, and modify printed circuit boards
- Support product builds and prototype assembly for reference devices, test boxes, racks, and chassis
- Read and interpret schematics, wiring diagrams, and blueprints
- Build wire harnesses, cable assemblies, and support PWB layout/documentation
- Maintain prototype station materials, tools, and lab hardware
- Partner with engineering, sourcing, and program teams to support lab and test hardware development
- Communicate effectively with global teams across the U.S., India, and Europe
Must-Have
- Associate’s degree in a technical field; electronics preferred
- Strong troubleshooting, soldering, and mechanical assembly experience
- Ability to read schematics, blueprints, and wiring diagrams
- Experience with assembly tools/equipment and test platforms
- Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills
- Comfortable supporting multiple fast-moving projects
Nice-to-Have
- ME or EE degree in progress or completed
- Soldering and/or ESD certification
- Experience with SMT, chip rework, CNC, or 3D printing equipment
- Creo CAD experience
- Experience with PWB design, test fixtures, cabling, and device assembly
- Knowledge of microcontrollers, sensors, WiFi/BLE, USB, cameras, or industrial automation
Pay range and compensation package
Pays up to $28.56 depending on experience.
