Role Description

Lasher is seeking an employment associate with at least three years of experience to join its growing employment team. Lasher serves clients throughout the Pacific Northwest, and its attorneys are consistently recognized by Chambers High Net Worth, Best Lawyers in America, and Washington Super Lawyers. This position involves a mix of litigation and general employment counseling, primarily representing employers and executives. Qualified candidates will have experience with all aspects of litigation, including interviewing witnesses, drafting motions, managing all phases of discovery including depositions, and trial preparation. This role also requires experience handling charges of discrimination before the EEOC and WSHRC, including drafting position statements and responding to agency inquiries. Second-chair trial experience and experience defending class actions are preferred but not required.


The successful candidate will also be responsible for advising and counseling clients on employment law compliance, including matters related to policies, handbooks, leaves and accommodations, employee performance and discipline, hiring, and terminations.


Active membership in the Washington State Bar, or eligibility for prompt admission, is required.


The annual base salary range for this position is $142,000.00 – $185,000.00, dependent upon years of experience. Qualifications

  • Three years of experience in a broad range of litigation, including interviewing witnesses, drafting motions, managing all phases of discovery
  • Experience handling charges of discrimination before the EEOC and WSHRC
  • Second-chair trial experience and experience defending class actions are preferred but not required
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines effectively
  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school
  • Active membership in the Washington State Bar Association
