Role Description

This is a full-time, on-site Primary Teacher role based in Louisville, KY. As a Teacher at Virginia Chance School, you will be responsible for planning and implementing developmentally appropriate lesson plans, creating a nurturing learning environment, and fostering social-emotional, cognitive, and physical development in young learners. Collaborative partnership with a co-teacher and active engagement in outdoor education and progressive teaching methods are essential aspects of this role. The Elementary Teacher will work closely with students, families, and colleagues to ensure a supportive and inclusive classroom environment.

Qualifications

• Proficiency in Lesson Planning and Curriculum Development to create and execute engaging, age-appropriate educational activities.
• A strong foundation in Elementary Education and Primary teaching methods, with a focus on hands-on and experiential learning.
• Excellent Communication skills to effectively interact with students, families, and colleagues and build a collaborative classroom environment.
• Experience in fostering social-emotional development and supporting the growth of young learners in a nurturing setting.
• Ability to integrate outdoor activities into the curriculum and encourage exploration in natural settings.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Elementary Education or a related field is preferred.
• Experience in progressive education or familiarity with ISACS, NAECP, or Gesell Institute guidelines is advantageous.
